Visit to the gardens of the Château de Chenonceau

Chenonceau is one of the jewels of the banks of the Loire. Its castle is nicknamed the "Chateau des Dames" because of the importance that women - including Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici among the most illustrious - have had in its history. These illustrious women did not only mark the place by shaping the stone. They also structured the exteriors and gave life to the gardens, two of which bear their respective names. In summer, they brighten up thanks to the flowering of the multitude of climbing roses and stems that adorn them. Other plant curiosities include a labyrinth planted with 2,000 yew trees, a green garden which hosts many large collection trees and a vegetable garden which feeds the floral arrangements of the innumerable rooms of the castle.

BRIQ ECLIPTIQUE Diane de Poitiers' garden is one of the highlights of the visit. It consists of 8 triangles of grass adorned with Santolines scrolls.

IMAGE OF MARC Quite innovative at the time of its creation, the water jet takes place in the center of Diane's garden. It springs from a large white pebble and its waters then fall in a sheaf towards a pentagonal receptacle of white stone.

BRIQ ECLIPTIQUE Here we are in the clearing of the park, facing the labyrinth, a magnificent plant circle planted with 2,000 yew trees. This labyrinth has 5 entrances, only 2 of which lead to the central gazebo. This small plant construction is decorated with living wicker and remarkable statues.

ECLIPTICAL BRIQ Here we are in the vegetable garden whose vocation is to supply cut flowers with all the buildings of the domain. Dedicated to production, this garden is nonetheless a place of refinement and contemplation. Built around 12 panels, it is bordered by climbing roses, stem roses and delicious apple trees.
